Valley Forge Medical Center and Hospital (VFMC) is a private, short-term inpatient health care facility licensed by The Joint Commission. Situated in a beautiful setting with 86 acres of land in East Norriton, PA, our facility was once the former estate of David Rittenhouse, a colonial patriot and astronomer.

Our present Valley Forge Addictions Program began in 1973 with the opening of the Alcoholism Detoxification Unit. We expanded in 1977 with the establishment of the Intensive Therapy Unit which provided rehabilitation for the detoxified patient recovering from the acute stage of alcoholism. Years later we added a residential detoxification and short-term rehabilitation program for individuals needing medically-monitored rather than hospital level of care, in accordance with the Pennsylvania Client Placement Criteria (PCPC).
